In August 2007 we installed a Davis Vantage Pro 2 weather station at Brent Knoll, Somerset in the south-west of England.

The site is about eight meters above mean sea level, and the anemometer is four meters above ground level. The site is well exposed to the south and west, but to the north and east there are trees and buildings and wind measurements are likely to be affected.
Sensor readings are logged on a computer using Weather Display and also Davis’s own WeatherLink software. Weather Display is used to deliver data to this web site, as well as WunderGround, FindU and the Met Office WOW site for amateur weather stations. In addition, an update is sent to Twitter every three hours from @KnollWeather.
